Central Bank of BiH puts in circulation additional quantities of Coins

The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH) will put from 28 November in circulation the convertible mark coins in the denominations of 5 BAM and 2 BAM, additionally minted in 2022.

The coins in the mentioned denominations, of the 2022 issue, have been minted according to regular activities of the CBBH, with the purpose of ensuring sufficient coins in the appropriate denomination structures for the needs of cash transactions in BiH.

The basic features and design of the additional quantities of coins in the denominations of 2 BAM and 5 BAM, of the 2022 issue, remain the same as in the coins of earlier issues of these denominations, with the difference that the numeric sign ‘2022’ is on the back side of the coins, as the year of minting of these denominations.

“Minting new quantities of convertible mark coins does not have an inflation effect, as no BAM will be put in circulation without adherence to the currency board principle, meaning that each issued convertible mark is covered by foreign currency at the fixed exchange rate. The coins will be put in circulation successively, i.e. as needed, through main units and branches of the CBBH,” announced the CBBH.
