Zvizdic ambassadorsChairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Denis Zvizidic, yesterday met with the Ambassador of Italy in BiH, Nicola Minasi.

“I handed over the invitation of the President of the Council of Ministers of Italy Gentiloni for participation at the Summit of heads of states of the Western Balkans, which will be held in Trieste on July 12, 2017, to Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Denis Zvizdic. The Summit in Trieste represents an important opportunity for strengthening of the European perspective of the Western Balkans countries, including BiH, and an opportunity to demonstrate Europe’s firm commitment to the development of the region, thanks to projects of financing new infrastructure projects. Furthermore, I informed Chairman Zvizdic that together with the Summit will be held a meeting between the national authority of Italy for the fight against corruption and authorities of six countries of the Western Balkans. This represents a testimony of additional efforts of Italy to promote the rule of law and fight against organized crime and corruption in the area of Western Balkans, along with the finalization of the Memorandum of Understanding between the High Prosecutorial Councils and cooperation between police and prosecutors’ offices in the fight against organized crime and terrorism,“ said the Ambassador of the Republic of Italy in BiH Nicola Minasi after the meeting with the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Denis Zvizdic.

Ambassador Minasi handed a letter of invitation for participation at the Summit in Trieste on July 12, 2017 that will be held under the presidency of Italy, to Chairman Zvizdic. Besides Chairman Zvizdic and Minister of Foreign Affairs Crnadak, BiH will be represented by Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Sarovic as well.

The Summit in Trieste, at which, besides the six countries of the Western Balkans, will also participate Italy, EU, Germany, France and Austria, will be an opportunity to confirm the European perspective of the region and the opportunity to start new infrastructure projects within the Agenda of approaching the EU.  Business Forum will be held at the end of the Summit as well and it will be attended by 12 companies from BiH from the field of infrastructure and energy. There will also be manifestation dedicated to the youth, a forum of the civil sector, and a meeting of authorities for anti-corruption in the Western Balkans and authorities of Italy from that sector.
