Today, November 30, 2025, Greece celebrates the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On this occasion, the Greek Embassy in Sarajevo illuminated the Friendship Building between Greece and Bosnia and Herzegovina (Trg BiH 1), projecting images of the national flags of the two countries.

The building, which today serves as the headquarters of the Council of Ministers of BiH, was renovated with the help of Greece, which provided 80 percent of the necessary financial resources (approximately 13.5 million euros), and the official inauguration took place on July 23, 2007.

“The Friendship Building remains a lasting symbol of the close friendship between Greece and Bosnia and Herzegovina, which we celebrate today. Greece, a sincere friend and partner of BiH, is committed to the peace, stability and progress of the country, as well as to its continued support for the European future of BiH, as stated in the Thessaloniki Agenda,” said the Ambassador of Greece in Sarajevo, H.E. Ioanna Efthymiadou, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina.
