Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdic met with the Director General of the Directorate for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations in the European Commission Christian Danielsson at the meeting that was held in Sarajevo.
“BiH nominated a total of 7 projects in the field of infrastructure, 2 in the field of strengthening of municipal infrastructure or the field of environmental protection, and a project in the field of social services or the field of culture, for the upcoming Summit of the Western Balkans that will be held in Trieste in July this year ” stated Zvizdic after meeting with Danielsson.
Danielsson noted that they discussed a number of issues within joint programs or joint agenda between the European Commission and BiH. He also stated that the focus of the meeting was on the Reform Agenda and its implementation that is planned for the period from 2015 to 2018. Regarding this topic, he praised the efforts of the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdic and his associates on all results that were realized.
Danielsson noted the importance of the continuation of reforms, or the process of implementation of the Reform Agenda that represents a ‘backbone’ of all the reform processes that are conducted in BiH.
“We also discussed the initiative of strengthening regional economic space for the Western Balkans. I am happy and I welcome the support that Chairman Zvizdic, together with his deputies, emphasized for this initiative. This kind of initiative will make this region more attractive to foreign investors and it will ensure its competitiveness as well,” said Danielsson.
According to estimations of the European Commission, the implementation of this kind of initiative would secure around 80,000 new workplaces.
