Chairman of the Council of Ministers BiH, Denis Zvizdic, stated that the World Economic Forum in Davos, which gathers leading politicians and businessmen from all over the world, is a good opportunity to present current political situation in BiH and the region, but also the economic investment potentials of BiH and the region of Western Balkan. He put the panel, which was opened and moderated by the President of the World Economic Forum Borge Brende, in focus.
“It is an honour for me that the situation in Balkans came into focus of interest of people who want to invest into our region, and not just the people who are leading processes in the EU,” he said.
He emphasized that the President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, the President of Kosovo Hashim Thaci, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria Boyko Borissov and the Commissioner for the EU Enlargement Policy Johannes Hahn participated on that panel.
“We discussed different models and initiatives that could improve economic integrations of Western Balkans, as well as enable significant connection and presentation of potential of not just every country individually, but the economic potential of the entire region with more than 20 million citizens and natural resources that could be attractive to investors for sure. A certain number of representatives of companies which are interested in different sectors attended the meeting, from the field of energy to industry and tourism, and we invited them to come and they will come to BiH and Western Balkans very soon,” he stated.
Zvizdic also mentioned other bilateral meetings on the level of representatives of countries of Western Balkans and the EU, and our intention (crucial foreign political goal of BiH and all countries of Western Balkans) remained in the focus, and it is European integrations, which will enable faster reaching of life standard and economic development of Central Europe.
“This was one useful visit that gave me an opportunity to present realistic political situation, intentions and visions that we have in BiH and gave me oportunity to return it in the focus of interest of investors, who will be visiting the region of Western Balkans,” stated Chairman Zvizdic.
