Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdic attended the meeting of prime ministers of the region with the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Policy and Security Federica Mogherini, before which he held a bilateral meeting with her.

Zvizdic said that they mostly discussed the process of European integrations of BiH. Chairman Zvizdic also noted that he informed Mogherini about the current political situation in BiH, with particular focus on several key topics, such as the implementation of the Reform Agenda.

Zvizdic introduced Mogherini with positive vital economic parameters on the basis of adopted economic measures, such as the increase of exports, which is the largest recorded in the region, as well as the increase of foreign investments. Chairman Zvizdic also stated that the Council of Ministers of BiH adopted the Budget for 2018.

“Reports from the Indirect Taxation Authority show that a total of 550 million BAM was collected for the motorways in the FBiH in the period from 2009 to 2016, 350 million BAM for the RS, and about 50 million BAM for Brcko. All of these funds go to the separate account, their allocation in accordance with the purpose is conducted, and then they go directly to accounts of companies that are dealing with the construction of motorways and roads. Now, we need to start the procedures and tenders and to start with the constructions at the beginning of the construction season, maybe already in the month of March,” noted Chairman Zvizdic.

Special attention during the meeting with Mogherini was given to the development of strategies, i.e. three strategies whose adoption is expected to take place soon. These are the following: public administration reform, whose text should be completed within the next 30 days, the strategy on energy and the strategy on rural development.

“With the adoption of the rural development strategy, a space for 30 million EUR of direct grants and direct investments is opened in the sector of agriculture,” stated Zvizdic.

While commenting on the comparison of BiH with the countries of the region when it comes to the speed of responding to the Questionnaire of EC, Zvizdic stated that 1,556 people are working on responses in BiH, while in other countries worked two people in each ministry.

Zvizdic also noted that all the Coordination Mechanism bodies were functioning in full capacity in the last four months.
