Chairman Covic: Our Commitment to the EU has a Price

Chairman of the Presidency of BiH Dragan Covic met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia Andrej Plenkovic in Zagreb, and he told media representatives that the European path of BiH can wait.

To recall, Covic and Plenkovic expressed their dissatisfaction with the parts of verdict pronounced in the case Prelic et al., which, according to them, refers to the incomplete and wrongly established facts and certain political connotations that this verdict has, since it alludes the responsibility of the then state top of the Republic of Croatia.

“It is up to us to correct them and make a statement that everything honourable will not be processed. We must encourage our people and we must show that we are part of the authorities as well and that our commitment to the European path has its price. We will make it clear – if the European path needs to wait, it will be waiting for a long time. We will fight for each and every honourable representative of the HVO and Croat people in BiH,” stated Covic.

He also noted that Croats in BiH are worried about everything that has happened in The Hague in the last couple of days.

Covic noted that the leadership of Bosnian Croats will “know how to respond with political means to these temptations” and seek for the equality of Croats with the other two peoples.
