Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić received today in Sarajevo the letter of credit from the newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Bosnia and Herzegovina Anas Abdulrahman O. Al Wasedy.

During the letter of credit presentation ceremony, Chairman Komšić welcomed the newly appointed ambassador to our country, expressing his belief that the friendly relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will continue to develop on an upward trajectory, both bilaterally and multilaterally.

The special focus of the conversation was on Saudi Arabia’s previous support. Komšić used the opportunity to express his gratitude to the Kingdom for its continued assistance to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the moments when it was most needed. The importance of supporting various development projects implemented through the Saudi Development Fund was also highlighted.

The interlocutors agreed that, despite good political relations, there is significant and realistic scope for improving economic cooperation. It was assessed that the potential for development lies primarily in the areas of direct investment, trade, tourism and education.

It was established that direct foreign investments are of exceptional importance for the economic growth and overall development of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
With the aim of creating a more favorable business environment, Komšić and Ambassador Al Wasedy expressed mutual interest in concluding new bilateral agreements. These agreements should create a better legal framework for the continuation of constructive dialogue and further improvement of relations between the two countries.

At the end of the meeting, the Chairman of the BiH Presidency wished Ambassador Al Wasedy a successful diplomatic mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
