Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) Milorad Dodik received the credentials from the newly appointed Ambassador of the United States of America (USA) to BiH, Eric George Nelson.

Dodik expressed his gratitude for the support the United States have provided so far to Bosnia and Herzegovina and expressed belief that the bilateral relations of the two countries would continue to develop in order to bring the mutual benefit.

Chairman Dodik said that “there is no consensus on NATO membership in BiH, but that BiH actively participates in the Partnership for Peace Program.”

He also emphasized that BiH, “using the Individual Partner Program instruments, is implementing the necessary reforms.”

The two also discussed the participation of members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina in peace missions in the world.

Ambassador Eric George Nelson said that the United States and BiH have very good bilateral relations and that the United States will support all activities of BiH in order to meet the conditions for candidate status in the EU.

He stressed that, during his term, he plans to work on improving prosperity, security and respect for the rule of law for the benefit of all BiH citizens.
