Chairman of BiH Presidency to address the United Nations Security Council Today

Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić will address the session of the United Nations Security Council in New York on Thursday, November 2, dedicated to the report of the high representative on the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, it was confirmed for Fena news agency from Chairman’s office.

In the report of the high representative, according to media reports, it is stated that the authorities of the Republika Srpska entity continued to undermine state institutions, and that Milorad Dodik continued to question the territorial integrity, sovereignty and multi-ethnic character of the state.

Al Jazeera correspondent from Washington Ivica Puljić said that he was confirmed by the UN that Christian Schmidt will not attend that session, where one of the topics is the extension of EUFOR’s mandate in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

According to Puljic, Schmidt said in his report that the Althea mission continues to play a key role in preserving peace and security in BiH and that the presence of EUFOR forces in BiH is necessary.
