The Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Denis Bećirović, will address the United Nations (UN) Security Council session in New York today, on the occasion of the Report of the High Representative in BiH, Christian Schmidt, on the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The session of the United Nations (UN) Security Council in New York begins at 4:00 p.m. Bosnian time, the Public Relations Service of the Presidency of BiH announced.

We remind you that after almost five years in the position of High Representative, Schmidt made a personal decision to end his service in peace implementation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Schmidt’s report covers the period from October 16, 2025 to April 15 of this year and defines the key challenges and political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina during the previous six months.

Schmidt informed the Steering Board of the Peace Implementation Council (PIC) of his decision and requested that they begin the process of appointing his successor. He emphasized that he will continue to perform the duties of High Representative during the process of selecting his successor.
