Chairman of CoM met with the President of Bulgaria

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdic met with the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev, yesterday in Sofia. The main topic of their meeting was the improvement of bilateral relations between the two countries.

They noted that the political relations between BiH and Bulgaria are good and that there are no open issues. They concluded that there is a mutual interest for stronger cooperation, especially when it comes to the field of economy.

Chairman Zvizdic expressed his satisfaction with the new dynamics in bilateral relations of the two countries, which is demonstrated with the more frequent meetings of the officials of the two countries. Zvizdic informed President Radev about the đ internal political situation in BiH, as well as the foreign-political priorities of our country. He emphasized that the Council of Ministers of BiH remains committed to the EU and NATO path of BiH and actively supports all regional initiatives and processes that are aimed at contribution to the peace and stability in the Balkans region.

President Radev stated that Bulgaria was the first country to recognize BiH and it supports BiH ever since. He congratulated Chairman Zvizdic on submitting the answers to the EC Questionnaire and expressed his hope that BiH will receive an answer during the Presidency of Bulgaria over the EU. He praised the work of the Council of Ministers of BiH on reforms and the growth of tourism in BiH.

Chairman Zvizdic expressed his gratitude for the Bulgarian recognition of BiH and he added that 26 years later, Bulgaria still has a key role for BiH.

They discussed the modalities for the introduction of the direct flight Sarajevo-Sofia, the possibility for some joint projects and organization of business forums in order to connect businessmen of the two countries.

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdic also met with the President of the Committee for Foreign Affairs of the Parliament of Bulgaria, Dzhema Grozdanov.
