The Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Borjana Krišto, spoke today in Sarajevo with the Head of the Delegation of the European Union in BiH and the EU Special Representative in BiH Johann Sattler and the ambassadors of the EU member states in BiH about reform processes and European integrations of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Krišto expressed gratitude to the EU for the candidate status and emphasized that the focus of the work of the BiH Council of Ministers is on fulfilling 14 priorities. She added that the new convocation is working intensively and that at tomorrow’s third regular session of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, there will be several items on the agenda important for the process of European integration, such as the Strategy and Action Plan for the fight against corruption, the Strategy for the fight against organized crime and Proposal for a decision on the ratification of the Civil Protection Mechanism.

She reminded that the Council of Ministers of BiH has already adopted a number of documents related to public administration reform, internal market and competition, transport, energy and the environment, necessary for holding regular subcommittees between BiH and the European Union.

During the meeting, they also discussed the process of establishing government at all levels in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the reform of electoral legislation and the adoption of the budget of BiH institutions for the current year.

A high degree of agreement was expressed to end these processes as soon as possible, in order to direct the focus of all levels of government in Bosnia and Herzegovina to reform processes related to European integration.

Krišto emphasized the importance of cooperation between BiH and the EU in the implementation of infrastructure projects, with a special emphasis on projects that would enable greater security of the energy system in our country, the Council of Ministers of BiH said.
