The session of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) was held yesterday in Sarajevo, and the chairwoman, Borjana Kristo, addressed the media afterward. Among other things, she announced that the European Union (EU)has made a decision to allocate 45.7 million euros in aid to BiH for the recovery from flood damage.

“Up until today, we have held a total of 134 sessions of the Council of Ministers. Today’s agenda contained 60 items, and I want to note that we adopted a Proposal of the Law on Administrative Procedure. It primarily enables a faster and more efficient public administration,” said Kristo yesterday.

She said that the issue of road transporters was also discussed.

“We considered information on the problems of road carriers in traffic. We had discussed this before, and today we received new information. We tasked two departments, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Security, to try in cooperation to reach concrete activities in order to resolve this issue,” she said yesterday and added:

“I think a way is emerging by which we could jointly solve this problem.”

Also, as she emphasized, the conditions have been met for the appointment of agents to represent BiH before the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).

45.7 million euros from the EU

“We have just received official notice that the EU has made a decision to allocate 45.7 million euros to help with the recovery from flood damage. This aid comes from the Solidarity Fund, it is a strong expression of gratitude from our partners at this moment. We have done everything on our part so that this application that was submitted would be a comprehensive and responsible task in terms of content and deadlines that we were obliged to meet,” said Kristo in her address to the media.

“We have scheduled June 11th as the date for signing the agreement with FRONTEX, which should take place in Brussels,” she added.
