The Chief Prosecutor of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milanko Kajganić, together with officials of the Special Department for War Crimes, held a working meeting with representatives of IRMCT’s Office of the Prosecutor from The Hague in the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The central topics were related to the preparations for the six-month report of the IRMCT’s OTP to the UN Security Council, as well as the improvement of work on war crimes cases and the improvement of regional cooperation.

The parties also discussed the transfer of war crimes cases against persons unavailable to the judiciary of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to the judiciary of the countries in the region where these indictees are located, in order to prevent the possibility that by fleeing Bosnia and Herzegovina the accused parties evade responsibility for committed war crimes.

In such cases, assistance and coordination can be provided by the IRMCT’s Office of the Prosecutor, which would certainly help in the fight against impunity of war crimes in the region, stated the BiH Prosecutor’s Office.
