Children in Gaza spend up to 8 Hours a Day gathering Water and Food

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) reports that children in Gaza spend six to eight hours daily collecting water and food, carrying heavy loads, and walking long distances.

“Sanitary facilities and infrastructure are severely compromised, forcing thousands of families to rely on seawater for washing, cleaning, and even drinking,” the agency stated on platform X, reiterating its call for a ceasefire.

Israel, in violation of the UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire, faces international condemnation for its ongoing brutal offensive on Gaza following the Hamas attack on October 7th, 2023.

Since then, more than 38.000 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, have been killed, and over 87.000 have been injured, according to local health authorities.

Nearly nine months after the Israeli war, large parts of Gaza lie in ruins amid a blockade of food, clean water, and medicine.

Israel has been accused of genocide before the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which recently ordered it to immediately halt its military operation in the southern city of Rafah.
