europaBA_2014091516123285The kindergarten “Majke Jugović” in Doboj welcomed the youngest ones back this morning. Playful laughter filled the air as around 130 children reunited with their friends, and mingled with new mates playing with jigsaw puzzles and building with Lego cubes. “Thanks to the financial assistance of the European Union’s Floods Recovery Programme we were able to resume the work today in the rehabilitated premises,“ said Slavica Živković, Director of the Kindergarten.

The kindergarten rehabilitation works were completed a week ahead of the original schedule. The completion of EU-financed works of the second kindergarten in Doboj is set for 1 October 2014. This brings the EU investment into kindergarten infrastructure in Doboj to 600.000 KM in total.

“We are delighted that the kindergarten in Doboj was able to resume its operations this morning. This is a key step in restoring one of the essential services for citizens in Doboj,   contributing to the normalisation of life in flood-affected areas. This is the primary goal of the EU recovery assistance to BiH,“ said Ambassador Peter Sorensen, Head of the Delegation of the EU to Bosnia and Herzegovina/EU Special Representative.
