China has imposed 34 percent tariffs on all imports from the United States, in response to the same tariffs that US President Donald Trump imposed on imports from China on Wednesday, Anadolu news agency reported.

“The tariffs, which are set to take effect next Thursday, will affect all US products imported into China,” the State Council’s Customs Secretariat said in a statement.

The statement called the US’s reciprocal tariffs unilateral bullying, adding that they violate international trade rules and harm China’s rights and interests.

Trump announced on Wednesday that he would impose reciprocal tariffs ranging from 10 to 50 percent on products imported from the United States, including 20 percent additional tariffs on imports from the EU, 34 percent on China, 46 percent on Vietnam, 32 percent on Taiwan, 24 percent on Japan, 26 percent on India, 25 percent on South Korea, 36 percent on Thailand, 31 percent on Switzerland, 32 percent on Indonesia, 24 percent on Malaysia, 49 percent on Cambodia, 30 percent on South Africa, 30 percent on Bangladesh, and 17 percent on Israel.

The measures mark a sharp escalation in US trade policy and have drawn global attention for their potential to disrupt international trade flows and increase economic pressure around the world.
