The Ambassador of China to BiH, Wang Fuguo will complete his mandate at the end of the month. Thus, he visited “Oslobođenje” and took the opportunity to speak about BiH, cooperation between the two countries, Chine investments and joint projects that are waiting to begin.

‘’It was nice being here. I am the Ambassador of a huge country and I tried as best as I could to establish relations between China and BiH on the political, economic, cultural, educational and other areas. I think that in these last two and a half years mutual political trust between BiH and China increased. There were some very important visits, such as the visit of our BiH Vice-Premier, Deputy Minister for Trade, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Governor of the Central Bank of China and the visit of some leaders of local communities in China’’, said Ambassador Fuguo in an interview for “Oslobođenje”.

He noted that BiH and China supported one another in international affairs and in international organizations, adding that the volume of economic exchanges has increased, especially in the area of investment.

“As you know, in Stanari the contract has already been signed. The first tranche of the Chinese loan has already arrived, and the total value of the project is more than 500 million euros. Credit from China will amount to 350 million dollars. Construction will begin in May. This is the first significant project between China and BiH’’, said Ambassador Fuguo.

Speaking on cultural exchanges, he said that a Department for Chinese language opened in the University of East Sarajevo, and there is approval to open the same Department at the University of Sarajevo.

Commenting on the current political situation in BiH, Ambassador Fuguo said that it is complex.

‘’But I have to say again: If all interested sides sincerely wish for the situation in BiH to get better, if they wish to solve these problems through dialogue and consultations and if there is joint development, then the problem will be more easily solved’’, said Ambassador Fuguo. He noted that it is important for BiH to know that they can view China as a friend.
