svilaj-bridgeThe bridge in settlement Krepsic near Brcko, which was devastated in the floods in 2014, will be reconstructed in this construction season, as announced after the meeting of the Minister of Transport and Communications of the RS and Mayor of Brcko District.

They also agreed on the cooperation of the local community and the Government of the RS on the construction of part of the motorway that will be constructed from Brcko over Bijeljina to the border with Serbia.

“Brcko District will find opportunities and solutions for the financing of the construction of the bridge, whether through PE Roads of Srpska or the budget, but the most important thing is that the construction of the bridge should be completed within this construction season,” said Sinisa Milic, the Mayor of Brcko District.

The Government of the RS and District Brcko will also realize cooperation in the construction of the section of the motorway from Brcko, over Bijeljina to the border with Serbia. They will be seeking for the best technical solutions in order to further accelerate the construction. The Government of the RS is currently negotiating with a Chinese company that already prepared the documentation.

“We are expecting the approval of loan funds from the Chinese Exim Bank for the construction of this highway very soon,” said Nedjo Trninic, Minister of Transport and Communications of the RS after meeting with the Mayor of Brcko District, Sinisa Milic.

Trninic also announced that the section of motorway from Brcko to Vukosavlje will be constructed on the basis of a contract with a consortium of Chinese companies, and its signing, as he announced, will take place soon.

“The RS has several projects within the construction of the motorway network, which includes the project that was discussed yesterday, and it is related to connection of parts of the RS from the border with Croatia, over Novi Grad, Prijedor, Laktasi, Banja Luka to Prnjavor, Doboj, and through the corridor to Vukosavlje, and further in the direction of Brcko, Bijeljina and the border with Serbia,” concluded Trninic.
