The delegation of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Bosnia and Herzegovina, led by Ambassador Li Fan, stayed in Vitez, where a working meeting was held with representatives of state and local authorities and businessmen from Central Bosnia County, one of the most active and economically developed regions in the country. Along with the ambassador, the Chinese delegation included adviser Miao Dake, head of the political department Wang Jian, and attachés Liu Ziqing and Deng Qinghong.

On behalf of the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the meeting was attended by Marinko Čavara, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Boris Marjanović, Mayor of the Municipality of Vitez.

During the visit, representatives of the Chinese embassy had the opportunity to learn about the local economy, key development projects, and the challenges and potentials that characterize this part of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In a pleasant and open atmosphere, local businessmen presented an overview of their companies’ activities, presented successful business models and highlighted their many years of experience in various industrial branches – from trade and production to tourism and service activities.

Prominent representatives of the economy and business community of Central Bosnia County participated in the meeting, including Drago, Valentin and Katarina Kafadar from the Ovnak company, Vlatko and Ivan Kafadar from the CM company and Joško Kafadar, representative of Via Mall. The economic picture of the region was additionally completed by Mirko Šakić from Ethno village Čardaci, Monika Gelić from Alfa Metabo, Matija Marjanović from Lucius and Dragan Blažević, director of Palprom.

Special emphasis was placed on previous cooperation with partners from the People’s Republic of China, where the participants shared positive experiences with regard to the import of raw materials, the purchase of equipment, the exchange of knowledge and the establishment of business contacts. They also discussed the possibilities of further expansion of cooperation, with a special emphasis on joint investments, increasing trade, technology transfer and the establishment of stable and sustainable channels of communication between China and Bosnia and Herzegovina’s companies.

The interlocutors agreed that there are real prerequisites for strengthening economic relations between the Central Bosnia County and the People’s Republic of China, especially in the context of global challenges that impose the need to create reliable and long-term partnerships. It was pointed out that the Chinese market, with its size and dynamism, is increasingly interesting to entrepreneurs from BiH who strive to expand their business.

Ambassador Li Fan expressed her satisfaction with the visit to Vitez and emphasized that the People’s Republic of China remains firmly committed to strengthening bilateral relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina at all levels. She praised the entrepreneurial spirit and initiative of local businessmen, pointing out that the Embassy of the Republic of China will continue to be a reliable bridge of cooperation and support in the implementation of concrete initiatives and projects.

At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed their willingness to continue dialogue, exchange information and organize future business meetings that would further strengthen the economic and friendly ties between the people of China and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
