EUFOR Commander Major General Maurizio Fronda visits EUFOR Troops stationed in Mostar

Yesterday, COM EUFOR Major General Maurizio Fronda paid his first visit to one, of the 20 in whole, Liason Observation Teams (LOT) and one, of the 24 Temporary Stanging Areas (TSA) stationed in different cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Recently, Major General Fronda took over the command of the EUFOR ALTHEA Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina and his tour to Mostar marks the beginning of many future visits to EUFOR troops stationed across Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Starting with the TSA in Mostar, COM EUFOR was welcomed by Lieutenant Colonel Muhamed Ganić, Battallion Commander of Armed Forces of BiH (AFBiH) in Livac. It was a great opportunity for COM EUFOR to receive an update on the security situation in that area, on joint activities, and on the training carried out between EUFOR troops and the AFBiH to ensure a safe and secure environment. Major General Fronda also met EUFOR troops stationed at the TSA and gained a first hand account of their operational activities in Mostar.

The visit proceeded on to Mostar LOT House providing an opportunity to gain an understanding on how EUFOR troops integrate and communicate with the local population in their everyday tasks. The Swiss Mostar team, provided Major General Fronda with deep and detailed brief about their community engagement and their established strong relationships with local institutions.

The EUFOR commander thanked all the troops he met today in both the LOT house and TSA for their professionalism, enthusiasm and daily work, emphasizing EUFOR’s strong commitment to remain visible, credible, and impartial, providing a safe and secure environment for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina in support of the BiH authorities.

With its 20 LOTs and 24 TSAs, EUFOR is staying present and engaged in all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, cooperating with the BiH AF and local institutions for the brighter future of all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
