The massacre committed by Aco Martinovic from Cetinje lasted about half an hour, during which he managed to kill 12 victims and wound four people at five locations before being surrounded by special police near an auxiliary structure close to his family home, Montenegrin media report.

Martinovic killed three women, seven men, and two children.

It all started in a bar after a day-long drinking spree in a convivial atmosphere among friends and relatives, when Martinovic got into an argument and decided to embark on a bloody rampage.

Martinovic left the bar to get a weapon

He left the bar to get a weapon and quickly returned, firing deadly shots at four people. After killing four people in the bar with whom he had spent the day, Martinovic continued spreading death at four more locations. The deranged Cetinje resident did not spare the lives of two children aged 12 and 13, whose father he had previously killed.

The brutal murders lasted less than half an hour, after which Martinovic fled in his car.

The Cetinje killer had prior convictions

After the initial reports of the shooting in the bar and at other locations, there were indications that he intended to continue his killing spree at several additional locations, which the police quickly secured through prompt intervention.

It was revealed that Martinovic had previously been convicted in a first-instance ruling for illegal possession of weapons and explosive materials. This raised concerns that he might target the prosecutor and judge who had sentenced him, but the police swiftly secured those locations as well.

According to unofficial information, after the mass murder, Martinovic fled in his car. Due to police roadblocks set up across the city, he abandoned the vehicle and left it by the roadside in the village of Bajice.

Police then received reports from multiple locations claiming that Martinovic had allegedly been spotted, but none of these sightings were confirmed.

Police used a thermal camera to locate Martinovic

There were rumors that Martinovic was hiding in the Obod factory hall.

In collaboration with local residents, police received new information suggesting that Martinovic might be hiding in an auxiliary building near his family home.

Special police units then surrounded the area, where, with the help of a thermal camera, they spotted Martinovic near the auxiliary building.
