Citizens have collected almost two million BAM in just 36 hours since the beginning of the Pomozi.ba Association’s campaign to help those at risk of floods in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This information was published by the association today.

The association launched the humanitarian action for the flooded areas yesterday and opened the number 17039, through which you can donate 2 BAM of aid.

In addition to Pomozi.ba, numerous levels of government in BiH, as well as well-known personalities from our country and the region helped the flooded areas.

Milorad Dodik, on behalf of the Government of the RS, donated 50,000 BAM each to municipalities affected by floods, the City of Sarajevo also helped with 100,000 BAM, the Government of SBK donated 100,000 BAM each to Kreševo, Jablanica and Fojnica, the Government of Brčko District a total of 200,000 BAM, while the aid provided by individuals like Zdravko Mamić or Vahid Halilhodžić or sports teams like FK Sarajevo.

In addition to the material damage, which is already measured in millions of BAM, at least 16 people lost their lives in yesterday’s floods, 13 in Jablanica and three in Fojnica. It should also be said that several people are still missing.

Numerous areas affected by floods still have no electricity or water, and are cut off from the rest of the country by road.

The Central Election Commission announced today that local elections will be postponed in Jablanica, Konjic, Kiseljak and Kresevo.
