Citizens of the Sarajevo Canton will receive CIPS Confirmation electronically

The Minister of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton, Admir Katica, and the Director of the Agency for Identification Documents, Records and Data Exchange of BiH (IDDEEA), Almir Badnjević, today agreed on cooperation with the aim of more efficient, faster and much simpler issuance of Notifications on the Residence/Residence of Citizens, the so-called CIPS certificate.

The Sarajevo Canton will be the first in Bosnia and Herzegovina to enable citizens to receive CIPS certificates electronically, i.e. through a service developed by IDDEEA. A prerequisite for the provision of this service is that citizens have a qualified electronic signature that they will enter on the requests for the issuance of this certificate – according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Canton.

In this way, citizens will be able to electronically submit a request for a Notification of Residence/Residence (CIPS certificate) from the comfort of their home, or any other location, and obtain this service in just a few minutes. Officials working on the issuance of these notifications will also have a qualified electronic signature that they will enter on the Notification of Residence/Residence.

The service should be launched in early October this year after the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Canton of Sarajevo and the Institute for Informatics and Statistics of the Canton of Sarajevo fulfill the remaining prerequisites for the secure and smooth electronic issuance of CIPS applications.

“With this cooperation, we show that the Canton of Sarajevo is making unstoppable progress in the modernization of public services, more efficient administration and the best possible service for citizens. More than half a million CIPS certificates are issued annually at the counters of the Canton of Sarajevo Interior Ministry, and this service will significantly reduce congestion and improve citizen satisfaction. I would like to thank Director Badnjević and IDDEEA for the fact that the Canton of Sarajevo Interior Ministry will be the first to implement this service, and I urge citizens to qualify their electronic signature as soon as possible, because we are working on providing other services in this way as well,” said Minister Katica.

IDDEEA Director Almir Badnjević reminded that this agency has developed the e-IDDEEA application, which allows registered users to use numerous services. Among the main functionalities of the e-IDDEEA application are the qualified electronic signature, insight into personal data, monitoring the status of personal documents, review of fines for individuals and legal entities, review of registered vehicles.

“Our intention is to start with the Sarajevo Canton with a service that will provide citizens with the opportunity to download the CIPS certificate electronically and to gradually roll out this service in all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Our next step in improving services for citizens will be to enable payment of misdemeanor orders electronically, immediately upon receipt, and we will present this solution very soon. I invite citizens to activate their free qualified electronic signature because this will allow them to perform a large number of services much faster and more efficiently,” he stated.

Citizens can activate a free qualified electronic signature in one of the IDDEEA registration offices in Banja Luka, Sarajevo, Bihać, Bijeljina and Mostar – the Ministry of the Interior of the Canton of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.
