Citizens of the RS are saving in Foreign Currency?

Savings of citizens in banks of the RS amounted to two billion and 161 million BAM at the end of September 2017 and an increase of 6 % was recorded, i.e. it is higher by 121.8 million BAM in comparison to the end of 2016.

Data from the Banking Agency of the RS show that savings in the year of 2008 amounted to 773 million BAM (in the fourth quarter of 2008 was recorded decline of savings) and savings were increased by 180 % until September 30, 2017.

In the currency structure of savings, the share of foreign currency savings is dominant and it amounted to 1 billion and 492 million BAM, which makes 69 % of total savings and it recorded an increase by 6 % or a nominal increase of 91.3 million BAM.

The savings of citizens in BAM amounted to a total of 661.5 million BAM, and it makes 31 % of total savings with a growth rate of 3 % in comparison to the end of the year of 2016.

Current accounts of citizens amounted to 674,1 million BAM at the end of September of the year of 2017, with a growth rate of 11 % when compared to the end of 2016.

The total savings of citizens, including current bank accounts, amounted to two billion and 835.1 million BAM in the month of September 2017, with a growth rate of 7 % in comparison to the end of 2016.
