Yesterday, Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining of the RS Petar Djokic stated that the construction of hydropower plant “Buk Bijela” will start this year, which, according to certain estimates, should cost around 400 million BAM and it will be fully owned by the RS, i.e. company “Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske”.
He also emphasized that the investment will be realized on the area of the Municipality of Foca, where should be located the headquarters of the company that will run this project.
“Total investment in the sector of energy only on the area of Herzegovina will amount to 2.3 billion in the next six to seven years, including several smaller hydropower plants. Those are large funds event for much larger countries than ours,” stated Djokic.
He said that the RS, with everything that it does and creates today, is a very good place for investments.
He noted that there are two phases left when it comes to realization of the construction of hydropower plant “Buk Bijela”, and the first phase will be contracting of financing, and the second one securing the financing consent.
Estimated installed power of hydropower plant “Buk Bijela” is 93.52 megawatts.
