Mayor of Sarajevo, Abdulah Skaka, visited the Foundation for Local Democracy, which implements the project of a Safe House since 2000. Women, children and girls who are victims of family violence can find their shelter there.

Mayor Skaka signed the Agreement on Realization of approved funds from the Budget of the City of Sarajevo for 2018 with Jasmina Mujezinovic, the Director of the Foundation for Local Democracy.

This money will be used for financing costs of stay of users in the Safe House.

The City of Sarajevo offers its continuous support to the only institution of this type in the wider area of Sarajevo, which provides psychosocial rehabilitation for a normal life, besides protecting victims from domestic violence.

“Our duty is to help and support this type of projects institutionally, but also as individuals. The work of this institution has a great importance, which is the reason why we will always be with them and offer them our support,” stated Mayor Skaka.
