The beginning of the closing arguments of the defense of the accused for the war crimes committed in 1993 in the area of Vitez is planned for next week, announced the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The proceedings have been conducted against eight former members of the 325th Brigade of the Army of BiH – Ibrahim Purić, Ibrahim Tarahija, Nijaz Sivro, Rušit Nurković, Almir Sarajlić, Sadik and Šaćir Omanović and Kasim Kavazović, and the defense’s closing arguments are scheduled to begin on Tuesday, June 13.

They are on trial for the murders of at least 12 soldiers of the Croat Defense Council who previously surrendered, as well as two civilians – women of Croat ethnicity, which they committed during the attack on Križančevo Selo, Šafradin and Dubravice near Vitez on December 22, 1993.

According to the indictment, Purić was the commander of the 325th Mountain Brigade of the Army of BiH, Tarahija was the commander of the Third Battalion of this unit, Sivro and Nurković were assistant commanders, and the rest were members of the brigade.
