At a press conference, coach of the B&H hockey team Anthony London said ahead of the friendly match against Turkey that the B&H team has a young team, and they represent the future of this team, said journalist of Anadolu Agency.
Coach London is a Canadian who has been living in Sarajevo for six years. He is the coach of all selections and plays for the B&H team, and he said that preparations for the match against Turkey have been ongoing for the past three weeks.
‘’Our players are almost ready. We have two more trainings left. I think that we have been waiting for this our entire lives, our younger and older players. Our players are ready to give their maximum against Turkey. The team is young and this is our future. The average age of our players is 22. This is a whole new beginning for us’’, said coach London.
Captain of the team Mirzet Hodžić said that the advantage of the B&H team is that it is a young team, and that and these are also players from the diaspora who have ‘trained hockey abroad’.
‘’We have gathered together and what we can guarantee everyone is that we will give our best and fight to win. We will fight to secure our place in Olympic Sarajevo, to win what we deserve’’, said Hodžić.
The B&H team will play against Turkey on 8 February in the Olympic Hall Juan Antonio Samaranch Zetra starting at 19:00.
