In the Kamicani Memorial Center in Kozarac today, a collective funeral was held and the remains of four victims who were killed in 1992 in the area of Korićanski stijene, Čarakov and Kozarac were buried.
The funeral prayer was led by the reisu-l-ulema of the Islamic community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Husein ef. Kavazovic.
The youngest victim who was buried this year in Kamičani is Alija (Kasim) Forić, who was 23 years old when he was killed in June 1992 in the area of Kozarac. His remains were exhumed at the Sivci – Mekteb location in 1998. Alijah was buried in the Martyr’s Cemetery in Kamicani.
The oldest victim is Badema (Ibro) Musić, born in 1942. She was 50 years old when she was killed in Čarakov near Prijedor. Her remains were exhumed in 2018 at the Alića Forest site in Čarakovo, and she was buried at the Čarakovo Martyr’s Cemetery.
Apart from these two victims, Nazif (Hajro) Musić, born in 1960 in Čarakovo, also found his final peace this year. He was killed in July 1992, and his remains were exhumed in Čarakovo, in the locality Žeger, in March last year. He is also buried in the Charakovo Martyr’s Cemetery.
One of the victims whose remains are buried today in Kozarac is Enver (Nedžib) Aljiji, born in 1966 in Skopje, Macedonia. He was killed in 1992 at Korićanske stijene in Vlašić, and his remains were exhumed when the last mass grave was discovered on this site, in September 2017. He was buried in the Martyr’s Cemetery in Kamicani.
Numerous political officials, including the Chairman of the BiH Presidency, Denis Bećirović, attended the last farewell to the Prijedor victims, BHRT writes.
