The Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Gordana Tadić, held collegiums of all departments of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH on 27 August 2020.

The work and results achieved, the planned scope of work and results until the end of 2020 and the functioning of the institution in the difficult conditions caused by the COVID 19 pandemic were discussed with the Deputies of the Chief Prosecutor, heads and prosecutors from the Special Department for War Crimes, the Special Department for Organised Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption and Department III.

It was pointed out that the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH did not interrupt its work activities even for a single day during the pandemic, in all lines of its operation, and that the necessary measures were taken to protect the health and safety of employees and persons coming into contact with the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The situation caused by the COVID 19 pandemic, which made it difficult to travel and meet with witnesses, victims and injured parties, made it difficult for prosecutors and professional staff, especially in cases of the Special Department for War Crimes, but with the work and additional commitment of staff, the Department will seek to achieve better results in the newly created conditions, which have been lasting for about 6 months.

The Chief Prosecutor, management and administration, as well as all prosecutors and employees, have shown professionalism and responsibility in the past period, and all activities have been undertaken to continue work in all investigations, cases and international operations in which the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina participates.

In all three collegiums, prosecutors assessed the yesterday’s media statements of the President of the Court of BiH regarding the manner of filing criminal reports and actions of the Prosecutor’s Office in relation to them as inappropriate comments, because all the criminal reports are treated according to the same procedure, as well as in accordance with the rights and duties of prosecutors set out in Article 35 of the Criminal Procedure Code of BiH.
