The US Embassy in Sarajevo was the host of a ceremony to award the American Order of Merit for joint service to Colonel of the B&H Armed Forces Enes Jahić.
The ceremony was held yesterday in the building of the Embassy, and B&H Minister of Defense Zekerijah Osmić, General Major Anto Jeleč, Chief of Joint Staff of B&H Armed Forces and other representatives of the B&H Ministry of Defense and the B&H Armed Forces attended the event.
On behalf of the Commander of the US Central Command (CENTCOM), the medal was presented by the Charge d’Affaires of the US Embassy Nicholas Hill.
Colonel Jahić was decorated to highlight his service during participation in the program of exchange at CENTCOM headquarters in Tampa, Florida, where he spent two years on matters of strategic planning and military analysis at CENTCOM’s international group for planning.
This award is a confirmation of his professionalism, dedication and exceptional work that he showed during his stay in the USA. At the awarding of the medal, Charge D’Affaires Hill congratulated Colonel Jahić and pointed out that ‘’his service is yet another proof of strong cooperation and partnership between the B&H and US Armed Forces.
Since the establishment of the B&H Armed Forces, the US government has provided support to the institutional and professional development through donations and military financial support in the amount of over 100 million US dollars.
