The Council of Ministers of BiH adopted a decision today regarding the base salary amount and a decision on the annual leave allowance (regres) for BiH institutions for the year 2027, stated the Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers, Borjana Krišto.
Krišto noted that this constitutes a legal obligation for the Council of Ministers, in accordance with the signed collective agreement.
“We also adopted an action plan for the drafting of the Economic Reform Programme of BiH for the 2027–2029 period,” Krišto told reporters following the Council of Ministers session, adding that this program fosters sustainable growth and employment, while supporting alignment with EU standards.
According to her, a report was also adopted regarding an increase in the subscribed capital in the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)—a move based on a resolution adopted by the EBRD during its annual meeting.
“This increases the capital value by 12,819,000 KM over three years, which will be implemented through equal payments over that three-year period,” Krišto stated, adding that a decision was made to pay 500,000 KM immediately.
She explained that by increasing its capital, BiH will strengthen its position as a shareholder within international financial institutions; simultaneously, this supports the continued financing of development projects related to road infrastructure, energy facilities, and other areas. “We also adopted information regarding the implementation of BiH’s activities under the Action Plan for a Common Regional Market 2025–2028, specifically those concerning the ‘Green Lanes’ initiative. In doing so, we have expedited cross-border traffic, reduced wait times at borders, and improved customs procedures,” said Krišto.
She pointed out that this essentially modernizes customs crossings, citing the crossings at the new bridge in Gradiška and the Svilaj–Novi Svilaj crossing as examples.
“In this context, we have officially initiated steps to define a credit arrangement and secure grant funding, and we have tasked a coordination team with monitoring the implementation of these activities and reporting regularly to the Council of Ministers,” added Krišto.
