Compact for Growth and Jobs in Bosnia and Herzegovina published

compactIn late May 2014, the Forum for Prosperity and Jobs was held to exchange insights on business development and job creation. Representatives of government, employers and employees, international and local economic experts and BiH citizens came together in Sarajevo to tackle these issues. Participants at the Forum began the development of a Compact for Growth and Jobs, a reform package to be presented to political leaders and civil society.

Input was collected and further refined in Banja Luka at a Seminar in mid-July that examined ways of implementing the Forum proposals into everyday practice. Experts from neighbouring countries shared their experiences with local participants and called on representatives of political parties to engage with reform measures without delay.

Following the successful completion of the consultations with numerous stakeholders, the Compact has been finalised. The proposals in it are practical and realistic, and if they are taken forward by the authorities they could positively and substantially improve the lives of citizens in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Full information on the measures can be found in the Compact for Growth and Jobs in BiH Brochure
