Mahmutovic said at a news conference that a survey had been conducted among businesses in Canton and that the results showed that 79.7% expected assistance from the competent authorities in the form of co-financing workers’ salaries, 50.2% in the form of grants for the purpose of maintaining business, and 32.2% in the form of deferred payment of the loan.

He added that 21.1% expected the placement of new favorable loans and 22.8% expected compensation for the damage. Regarding the layoffs, Mahmutovic said that 56.5% of them do not yet know whether to take this unpopular measure and that it will depend on the duration of the crisis.
