DIGITALIZATION HEALTHCAREMinister of Healthcare of Canton Sarajevo Zilha Ademaj stated that the PI Healthcare Center of Canton Sarajevo has very ambitious plans for the year of 2017, especially when it comes to the process of computerization, which will significantly accelerate the realization of specialist and diagnostic services.

“They are planning complete linking of electronic prescriptions, written referrals, and electronic laboratories, which means that patients will receive electronic referrals for the laboratory as well, which will prevent duplication of laboratory reports and thus greatly improve the work,” she noted.

“Together with the development of e-cards, e-referrals, and e-prescriptions, they will also proceed to the computerization of laboratory services, the so-called LIS (laboratory information system), which is part of a broader project that should be fully implemented in 2017,” as they stated.

They will also work on improving primary health care in order to achieve the best possible satisfaction of users of health services and preserving the health of the citizens of Canton Sarajevo.

When it comes to primary health care, the number of tourist visits in 2016 was 2,385,288, while in 2017 they are planning 2,287,581 visits. Specialty consultative healthcare care realized a total of 244,115 visits in 2016, and they are planning 239,619 visits in 2017, which is less than in the previous year.

In 2017 is planned to purchase equipment for the needs of the Healthcare Center of CS worth 1.62 million BAM, and it will be financed by the funds of the institution (620.000 BAM) and funds from the budget of Canton Sarajevo for 2017.
