Conceptual design of the future Square of the Defenders of Vogošća was presented yesterday at the premises of the Municipality of Vogošća.
Presenters were Prof. Dr. Hamdija Salihović and Prof. Dr. Emir Salihović, engineers of architecture. During the presentation they pointed out that during the making of the conceptual design of the Square they paid attention to preserving every tree that could be preserved and in the places where that was not possible, they replaced trees with other plants.
The Square will cover 4.500 square meters. It will be divided into several physical parts – an event square as the main space within the Square, a chess space, space for a café with a terrace, children’s playground, the existing memorial, a fountain, a sculpture that dates from before and a scene space, it was stated.
“For months now, we have been intensely looking for an adequate solution of the future look of the Square of Defenders of Vogošća, which will represent a postcard of the Municipality of Vogošća. That will be the central square in Vogošća, something that Vogošća will be recognizable for. Today’s presentation is exactly what we were looking for. We will have one large space with different amenities, a place where cultural, political and all other events will be held. I am sure that this will be the favorite gathering place for all generations. Now we will do a promotion of this design, thus enabling the public to give their critical opinion about this project, so that we would get the maximum when the conceptual design of this project is implemented. We will strive to provide funds for the design of the main project from friendly and relevant institutions as soon as possible. After that, we will start with providing funds for implementation of this project, so that the people and Vogošća and those who visit this municipality could enjoy,” said the Mayor of Vogošća Municipality Edin Smajić.
Conceptual design of the Square of Defenders of Vogošća will represent one gem for the future generations, because in all larger cities the squares are very valuable places for the gatherings of people, for relaxation and rest. All amenities of the future square are very attractive and will satisfy everyone’s taste.
