Concert of Vienna Philharmonic in June 2014 in Sarajevo

In June 2014, Vienna Philharmonic, City of Sarajevo, public broadcasters of BiH, France and Germany and the European Union of Public Broadcasters will mark 100 years since the beginning of the First World War with a unique concert.

The concert will be held on Saturday, 28 June, on exact date of 100th anniversary of Assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria in Sarajevo.

Vienna Philharmonic, conducted by Franz Welser-Möst, choir of the Opera of National Theatre of BiH, together with public broadcasters of BiH, Germany and France will send the message to citizens of Sarajevo, BiH and to everyone in the world a message of peace and international friendship.

They will perform the works of famous Austrian, German and French composers, and the concert will be held in National and University Library of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The concert will also be a celebration of the reconstruction of the National and University Library of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
