The delegation of the City of Sarajevo stayed in an official visit to Zagreb yesterday, where they agreed on strengthening good relations between the two capital cities, which is also very important for good relations between two neighbouring and sovereign countries, as announced by the City Administration of Sarajevo.

During this visit, the Mayor of Sarajevo Abdulah Skaka met with the Mayor of Zagreb Milan Bandic. They discussed concretization of mutual cooperation and establishment of closer relations between the capital cities, and there is a framework for connecting two cities since the Agreement on Cooperation between Sarajevo and Zagreb was signed in 2001.

They also discussed the possibilities for cooperation in the field of economy, development of tourism and cultural exchange, and they concluded that there is room for organization of some major events, including the New Year’s Eve in Sarajevo or advent in Zagreb.

They also discussed the possibility to include two cities in a joint tourist route, and a special attention was given to the exchange of experiences in the use of EU pre-accession funds.

The Mayor of Zagreb Milan Bandic noted the strategic importance of quality relations between Sarajevo and Zagreb for the relation between the two countries, and he also noted that there is a willingness for the improvement of this cooperation from both sides.
