A meeting with ambassadors of NATO member states accredited in BiH was held in Sarajevo at the initiative of the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Dragan Covic.

An open and interactive exchange of opinions was focused on the current situation regarding the European and Euro-Atlantic path of BiH. Chairman Covic informed the ambassadors on the current activities and noted the importance of the process of integration, both for BiH but also regional and European safety and stability.

Their common opinion is that it is necessary to preserve the currently intensified dynamics that refers to the fulfilment of the so-called Tallinn criteria for activation of the Membership Action Plan (MAP), and to continue working on overcoming the obstacles and limitations in this process. At the same time, the additional engagement is needed for the support of the rule of law, as well as for creating favourable political climate and strengthening of mutual trust all over BiH, which will contribute to the fulfilment of these conditions.

They also noted great contribution of the Ministry of Defense of BiH to these processes, and the upcoming joint visit of the Minister of Defense of BiH and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH to the Headquarters of NATO in Brussels, which represents a great opportunity for even more intensive action for mutually useful partnership.
