The Development Agency of the Una-Sana Canton (USK) and the UN Program of Employment and Retention of Young People in BiH (YERP) organized yesterday in Bihać an international conference on the topic “Improving Business Environment and Creating Employment Opportunities”.

Honorary guests, Ambassadors of Norway, the Netherlands and Czech Republic to BiH, and business people and public figures in the USK attended the meeting.

At the beginning of the conference, honorary guests addressed journalists, Ambassador of Norway to BIh Anne Vibeke Lilloe, Ambassador of the Netherlands to Jurriaan Kraak, Ambassador of the Czech Republic Tomaš Szunyog, head of the UNDP Program to BiH Slobodan Tadić and Haris Komić, the Director of the Development Agency of the USK.

They took this opportunity to put forward their expectations of these international conferences, as well as the views on the current unfavorable business climate in BiH and opportunities to open new work places.

Ambassador of the Netherlands Jurriaan Kraak said how with this conference entrepreneurial skills in the region would enhance.

Ambassador Kraak said that real work is in the hands of the private sector, and the government at all levels, embassies and international organizations would have to help this sector.

The Czech Republic is ready to help BiH through a development cooperation program that each year allocated 2.500.000 euros, from which they want to invest a part of the funds in the USK.

With this meeting, the Development Agency USK wishes to improve the business environement and provide incentives for new businesses in all economic sectors.

The conference gave answers to questions so that small and medium-sized enterprises increase the number of work places by encouraging competitiveness through improving the clusters or other intercompany relationships.
