Conference ‘Stereotypes and Gender Equality in B&H’

ravnopravnost_spolovaOn occasion of marking 8 March, the International Day of Women, the Agency for Gender Equality in B&H, in cooperation with the Embassy of the USA in B&H, Geneva Center for Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF) and the Atlantic Initiative are organizing a conference in Sarajevo called ‘Stereotypes and Gender Equality in B&H’.

The aim of the conference is to highlight the stereotypes that B&H society faces, in the areas of political life, judiciary and the media.

The conference marks the beginning of the Week of Gender Equality, which is traditionally marked for several years and is dedicated to the promotion and advancement of women in all areas of life and work.

In the Week on Gender Equality there will be a focus on the results and problems in strengthening the role of women, discussing the prevention of all forms of discrimination based on sex, and respect for civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights of women in B&H.
