The Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the current convocation, Nikola Špirić, called the constituent session of the House of Peoples in the new convocation for Thursday, February 16.
The proposed agenda includes taking a solemn declaration by the delegates; the establishing of people’s clubs and the election of the chairman, first and second deputy speaker of the House of Peoples.
The provisions of the Rules of Procedure of the House of Peoples of the State Parliament stipulate that the first session of the House, after the election, is convened by the Collegium of the House from the previous convocation, unless otherwise regulated by law.
Until a speaker is elected, the first session is chaired by the oldest elected or the oldest elected delegate present as a temporary speaker.
The House of Peoples consists of 15 delegates, of whom two-thirds are from the Federation of BiH (including five Croats and five Bosniaks) and one-third from the entity of Republika Srpska (five Serbs).
A quorum consists of nine delegates, with the condition that at least three delegates from all constituent nations are present.
