The Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in a two-day session starting today, will consider the requests for the evaluation of the constitutionality of the amendments to the Constitution of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the amendments to the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which were imposed by the high representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina on the election night of October 2 Christian Schmidt.
The constitutionality assessment was requested by members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić and Šefik Džaferović, who at the time of the request were the chairman of the BiH Presidency.
In his request, Komšić stated that these are unconstitutional measures, the application of which can cause irreparable damage, while Džaferović requested a determination of their non-compliance with the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at its plenary session on December 1 and 2, rejected the proposal for the adoption of a temporary measure and postponed the decision on the merits of the case.
