Since October 2024, the Federal Ministry of Displaced Persons and Refugees has invested nearly 5 million BAM to help the population recover from the consequences of natural disasters, such as floods and landslides, in the municipalities of Jablanica and the City of Konjic, in cooperation with local authorities.

A one-time financial aid ranging from 8,000 BAM to 15,000 BAM was provided to 59 recipients in Jablanica, totaling 535,000 BAM, while in Konjic, 28 recipients received 257,000 BAM.

For the reconstruction of damaged and destroyed infrastructure caused by the October 2024 floods and landslides, the Ministry has so far invested 3,792,398.20 BAM. Of this amount, the City of Konjic received 1,677,901.87 BAM for 13 projects, and the Municipality of Jablanica received 2,114,496.33 BAM for an equal number of projects.

Humanitarian projects in Konjic received 15,300 BAM, while in Jablanica 44,400 BAM was allocated.

For agricultural projects in both communities, 41,093.25 BAM was invested. Additionally, more than 200,000 BAM was set aside for the reconstruction of 10 additional housing units in the City of Konjic.

Procurement procedures for the construction of residential buildings (houses) and one apartment building have been completed. The contractor for four residential buildings in Konjic has been selected, with a contract value of 803,579.05 BAM. In Jablanica, an apartment building with eight units will be constructed, with a contracted value of 1,073,273.78 BAM.

The Federal Ministry of Displaced Persons and Refugees emphasized that the procurement procedure had to be repeated multiple times, as previous attempts to submit bids received no interest from contractors.

In other areas affected by the 2024 floods, including Kreševo, Fojnica, Kiseljak, Mostar, Drvar, and Visoko, nearly three million BAM was invested during the same period, according to the Federal Ministry of Displaced Persons and Refugees, Fena writes.
