Construction of Road Neum – Stolac almost certain

neumConstruction of the road Neum – Stolac, that we are waiting for years, is almost certain now, thanks to the credit from the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the European Investment Bank.

This credit amounts to 150 million EUR. However, about 40 million EUR from these funds will go for the first phase of the project, said Pavo Boban, assistant of the Federal Minister of Transport and Communications.

“These credit funds are the crown of the recent meeting we had with the World Bank. It is now at the federal and state ministries and governments to approve it. However, we are satisfied with the pace at which all of this takes place in order to prepare the terrain for the construction of the road Neum – Stolac. We stated earlier that the works will start in June, however we cannot state the same now, because we do not know how much time will need the Ministry of Finance and Treasury, the Council of Ministers and the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, after the Government of FBiH, to include it on the agenda and finally approve it, “explained Boban.

He added that it is sure that at the section where the construction of the road Neum – Stolac is planned, next year will be a real construction site.
