Construction of Several Facilities on Igman Mountain soon

In order to improve the social and ecological functions of forests and forest land, at the initiative of the Ministry of Economy of the Canton Sarajevo (CS) and the Public Utility Company “Sarajevo – sume” d.o.o. Sarajevo, the Government of the CS adopted a Decision supporting the implementation of the Project for the Improvement of the Veliko Polje Picnic Area.

With this project, the construction of a series of facilities for the visitors of Veliko Polje is planned in order to enable them to have a better and more pleasant stay in this area, as well as provided places for setting up barbecues in terms of preventive activities for forest fire protection.

In this area, there will be a number of refrigerators, fire pits for barbecues, trash cans, and designated parking spaces.

It is especially necessary to point out that park furniture will be built, that is, spaces with play facilities will be built for the youngest visitors to Igman.

Enriching the facilities of “Veliko Polje” will surely increase the number of visitors who, even in the current environment, are noticed in large numbers in this locality due to the climate and clean air, diverse topography, beautiful landscape, sports that require steep slopes or snow…
