A humanitarian container for donations of clothing and footwear has been set up in Tuzla in front of the Prince’s mosque. This project was organized by the International Forum of Solidarity – EMMAUS.
As part of this pilot project the donated clothes and footwear will be used for the MFS-EMMAUS activities to help socially vulnerable people, continuous service users and those who need help. They also plan on setting up a large number of containers in cities across the country. “For now it is only one container that is designed so it can fit a larger amount of clothes and shoes, without that there is a fear that they will be damaged, stolen or get wet. We hope that after this pilot project we will set up new humanitarian containers in cities across the country, preferably in attractive locations, and in cooperation with religious communities, municipalities, institutions and individuals” said Elmedin Škreb project manager EMMAUS. MFS. Emmaus invited all interested institutions and individuals across the country to engage in the implementation of this useful and humane project.
IFS-EMMAUS is a non-governmental humanitarian organization established in 1999 with the aim of providing assistance to all vulnerable groups in need, and has offices in Doboj East, Sarajevo and Srebrenica. It’s one of the largest humanitarian and non-governmental organizations not only in BiH but also abroad with 220 employees and 50 active volunteers.
