Contemporary General Hospital Opened in Bijeljina

bolnica-bijeljina0207The official opening of the most modern general hospital in the region took place in Bijeljina yesterday. The government of the RS invested 36 million euros.

The President of the RS Milorad Dodik said at the ceremony that the RS today needs positive energy, gatherings and for all successes to be celebrated by everyone.

“This is a joint work and means mutual success. We have to come together during difficult times, we have to be understanding and to be in solidarity, we have to believe one another and we have to be together’’, said Dodik.

The red ribbon was cut by the Prime Minister of the RS Željka Cvijanović, who spoke of the importance of this capital project in Bijeljina and the RS and announced a commitment of the government to build new hospitals in all parts of the RS.

“This project shows the commitment of the government of the RS together with local communities to find a way round up resources and investment capacity’’, said Cvijanović.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Health and Social Welfare Slobodan Stanić, Minister of Physical Planning, Construction and Ecology Srebrenka Golić and the Minister of Education and Culture Goran Mutabdžija.

The Director of the Hospital in Bijeljina Siniša Maksimović and the Mayor of Bijeljina Mićo Mićić and the Austrian Ambassador to BiH Donatus Koeck addressed the audience.

The contract of works was the Austrian Company “Vamed”. The new hospital “Sveti vračevi” is 12.434 square meters and has 246 beds, five operation rooms, eight wards and a modern diagnostics room and laboratory.

The Regional Bank in Bijeljina employs 512 people, and offers medical services for around 200.000 people.
